Cool! As both guitarist and bassist (albeit not very good at either one), I appreciate them both. Hell, I apreciate ANYONE that can truly play ANY instrument! I look forward to receiving the CD.

FWIW, cdbaby.com's Pres./Owner is a real piece of work...warped sense of humour, et al, LOL!

Tony:

Holyland is great! I just got finished ripping it to my iPod after burning it up in the cd player in my truck all weekend.

Genre=Unclassifiable is exactly correct! Each song is completely different from the rest. I hear all of your influences in there and then some. For example, the d'Ug (Doug) Pinnick 12-string King's X thing is there, but you threw in Ty Tabor as well!

This is a bass album done with taste and restraint. A disc full of noodling and/or bass solos ad nauseum it is not. My only complaint: the disc isn't long enough...gimme more! LOL! J/K.

Highly recommended!

Cheers,

Kevin

You are absolutely correct! This is bass album not a fest for the ego driven player. Carefully crafted tunes that showcase melodic playing and displaying the role of the bass in a band context. And as Kevin states, variety in the tunes. A bargin at twice the price. Lets us all support eachother here. Perhaps a new category on the board? Member Releases?

I don't know.  It's great to be appreciated, but five million morons represent an awful lot of money...

I'm going to have to get me a copy of this disk, but my musical attention is 100% occupied for the next three weeks.  After that, I'm in.

Bob:

You won't be disappointed. Tony's CD has something for everyone. I got positive comments from co-workers playing it in my cubicle when I ripped it to my iPod.

It's rare that a monster bass player produces his own CD and doesn't produce a can you top this mish-mosh of endless bass solos over a drum machine and programmed synth backline just for the sake of showing off. Tony's CD is all about melody and composition, not about showing off his chops.

Tony:

Prego! You're very welcome. Keep up the good work. When are you playing in Joisey next and who with? Inquiring minds wanna know!

Cheers,

Kevin

P.S., Remember guys/gals: 20%off from cdbaby.com if you order two or more Holyland CD's. Tony is certainly worthy of the support...the same support you'd give to any of the other Alembic Club members that released an official work. Gentlemen, start your credit cards! LOL!

Tony: I just got another second chance offer on your bass. It came through my email and had all of the ebay logs, attachments, etc., etc., to make an unsuspecting person think this great bass can be mine for the Second Chance Price available now at $2,150.......I don't know if ebay can, or even wants to, do anything about this stuff. I am sure it is having a negative impact on their business......Thanks guys, stay cool!
