I have seen that one too. It's definitely in excellent condition. The price seems a tad high but not outrageous for an all original SB1000 in such condition. I think it will sell eventually. The seller might be better served to put it on regular auction to get more hits, though. Still, for that money I would rather go for another Spoiler. I have enough SBs...for now.

Replace the .co.uk in your browser with .com for the US version. I believe this works with any listing and determines the currency displayed on the page.

Well, it's not cheap maybe, but I can highly recommend this model.

I would say that the Aria SBs have a very unique and specific sound + feel, usually the action on these basses can go ridiculously low (good for the soft AND hard pluckers).

Like a Fender Jazz/Precision and Alembics, they all have their unique sound, strengths and so on...

For Funk, Motown and Disco, the Aria SBs CUT through the MIX very NICELY. Its a shame they weight a TON! I cannot stand up with these, my back is DEAD, so I have to seat 100%. For me, it's so bad that last time I tried to stand up with a bass, I couldn't move for few days... NOT LOL

They are advertising it as a model 750 but it is an SB 1000?

I saw that, but AFAIK it's an SB1000, you can tell by the Active circuitry look/positioning etc.... Sometimes people give different names for some reason... I'd say, anyone looking for an SB1000 jump on the opportunity, it looks really good. This is a fine + rare example!

Hey lg71, I know what you mean about the weight of the SB1000s...brutal! I even bought a really well padded strap but it didn't help. It's a cheapo though, so I think I can find a better one. There was some strap I've seen advertised in Bass Player a long time ago that had two straps to it. That is probably something to look into if you want to play an SB and stand for longer than 10 minutes.

Although, my SB-R80 (the one with two pickups) is definitely lighter than the SB1000. I guess cutting out the extra wood for the second pickup takes some weight off. The Black n Gold I have is also a bit lighter even though it has only one pickup. Must be the kind of wood used.

Alembic83, I don't think that the strap is going to make a huge difference, it might help in the surrounding spot a bit, where it rest, but it's the law of physics in the end, if its heavy, its heavy... I got myself a nice comfort strap, I cannot use it anyway.

Regarding the weight, the 2 pickups vs 1 is not that easy to compare, because for a start one SB pickups weight 1/2 pound each! then My SB900 (2PUs) is heavier than the SB1000 (1 PU)...
My Arialembic (ex SB Elite 2) is so light... The older SBs were heavier in general, the newer ones where lighter, like the Elites and SB-Rs as you noticed, BUT, as you said, it much depends on the wood as well, definitely. Saying that, I read people saying that their SB-Rs were heavy, could be older one. For instance, the SB-R150 were very heavy, it used Zebra-wood.
The sad thing is that I much prefer the tone + feel and action of the heavier one

If I can rescue my SB900, I am going to make it an Arialembic LG MK2, and will probably sell the Arialembic MK1

Rescue, I meant from finances you know... I have few basses right now, but I know that I cannot afford them you see.
I did like many people do, I borrow money to get what I like,
but I never forget that I don't own the stuff until I am debt free...
So, I happily accept the situation, it is my responsibility. Soon, anytime, some guys in suit might turn up at my front door and say: hello sir, we are here to collect some of your goods...
Not a bid deal, do it while you can... I might never reach 50, and I might never be in a situation again to own the things I own.
While this could sound negative, I am very positive about it!
