I'd love to have a fretless Alembic but now is not the right time for me. Go for it David and good luck.

I could make the case for this being a $5K bass, but not for me.  Only bad part is that I am heading to NYC tomorrow and was going to pick it up.

Doc, Yes, I am.  Let me introduce myself.  I have played bass since 1963.  Any instrument I buy will get played.  It was nearly too much to pay, but my sons are out of college!  I am new to Alembic, although I have read much about the company and the basses.  I play Gibson (EB-2), Tobias (Killer B), and Fender (precision) basses but I am sure the Alembic will become an important part of my low-end.  Allen

Welcome to the family.  I am jealous of your acqusition.  As are a few others I think.  And of course, your afore mentioned girlfriends will soon become very jealous.

As well, now I'll get to see my son go to college from here on earth and I won't have to watch it from Heaven.

I've wandered around the Club posts for the last two days and it looks like a very nice family, indeed.  You are likely right about my girlfriends!!  Thanks for the welcome.

Congratulations! That's a really fine looking and interesting bass. If you have any questions, this is the place to ask - a very knowledgable bunch. Don't forget to post in the showcase section when you get it in your hands and post pictures and soundclips if possible!
