Was wondering why the line wasn't straight but am not good enough with the computer equipment to blow it up.  I may be choosing a top wood for a custom bass that has a small amount of sapwood and assumed I'd have it cut out.  Any thoughts on leaving it in (to avoid hijacking the thread, I'll rephrase--what does the group think of the look on this bass)?

I'm not fond of it. To me it looks unbalanced with  wavy edges of the sap wood and straight lines of the neck. Too bad as I am looking for a small body Series.

On various FTC & Wood Bank threads, I've seen posts asking if the customer wants to use the sap wood, and wondered why on earth you would.  Now I know.  It gives a very organic look, like the neck & body grew together (maybe it would look even better without the neck framing, or BTC?)  I don't know that I'd have one built like this, but if I weren't completely freakin' broke, I'd think long and hard about this one.  Very nice.

Beautiful bass with an awfully big price.  But Willie has never been known to offer bargains on anything.

I'm just impressed on how they got the top seams to merge and melt in. WOW!! What a masterful example of craftsmanship. Whether the look is or isn't to you're liking, there's no doubt in my mind anyway, it will find a home.
KFS I'd agree with your first statement. OH yeah!

I just saw the price, WOW.

Looks like the strap button on the back has been moved too.

It's still a very nice axe.
