Hi Thomas, welcome to the club!

First, the body sandwich on this bass is, from an appearance standpoint, very nice.  Not too many basses from this period have this many body lams.  I won't guess as to the woods.  The top and back lams look to be Zebrawood.

The neck looks to be Maple and Purpleheart.  Perhaps the body lams are Maple and Purpleheart as well.

We have a lot of fans here in the club of Fret/FX.  Personally, I have a hard time with gluing a battery pack to the headstock of a Series I, but that's just me.  Again, there are a lot of guys here that love 'em.

Single truss rod; new style bridge.

The description of the electronics is a bit off; but as you already own an Essence, you probably figured that out.

The straplocks look like the type where the little clip is permanently attached by screw to the body, and the strap is then attached to the clips.

There is a hole in the back where someone has at some time attached a strap button.

The usual caveats about RF noise on instruments of this age would apply.

That's all I can think of at the moment.
