I remember when I finally accepted the fact that I could never afford an Orion, so I had to settle for a Series I instead.  Hope springs eternal. hehehehe

I thought I recognized this one...

I bought a new 5-string Bocate Essence at the House of Guitars in Rochester, NY in 1993 for a little over $2k (if I remember right). $9k is a bit of a stretch.

BTW, I wish I still had it!

Folks,

I have a '91 Essence that some of you may know as the Burkha King - it is pretty much the same as this one (e.g., red, flame maple, etc.).  I paid less than half of what they're asking here for that bass.  What he's asking is way, way too much.  My guess is that he'll figure that out when his auction ends and there are no bids.

The BIN was always $3000 or almost twice the current street value.
(or were you being facetious?)

Here is where the $9G came from:
It is a beautiful 1992 Alembic essence that retailed for over nine thousand dollars new.

Facetious, sarcastic but not serious. I checked the auction after seeing this posting and had to see for myself.

Aah, this is where that little ducking smilie would have been appropriate.

I think it's going to be harder to sell a tinted Essence than a natural colored one.

Maple tops in a tinted finish aren't a downer to me, though I prefer a lighter tint that shows more obvious grain and figuring.
