Nice Series II, questionable description

Much of the description appears to be related to a new Series II rather than this particular 1980's bass, but still a nice looking instrument.  Who knows what offer will trigger a bite.

As far as the errors, it appears to be garden-variety lightly flamed walnut rather than a burl.  The hardware (bridge, tailpiece, backplates) don't appear to be chromed.  The logo is definitely not a surface mount with shell.  Can't tell for sure if it has side LEDs but, if it does, there are no batteries to power them when not attached to the DS-5 (I don't know if this would be typical or not).  Finally, the body wood looks a little light, more like the typical mahogany than walnut, but I wouldn't state that with any confidence.

I guess, with all the above, I might even get a confirmation of scale length before making a bid, and don't forget the possible need for an electronics upgrade to quiet a bass of this vintage.

As such, the replacement cost estimate is bogus.  I would put this at a little over $15K list/ $11.5K street with a free LED special.  If you wanted this bass, I think you'd order a Series I, upgrade the electronics, and add one purpleheart stringer and the LEDs.  Anything under $6K still seems like a pretty fair deal if this is what you're looking for and as nice as it seems.

Looks like he has come down on his price a little.
