I see it, want it, but not sure why...
« on: October 07, 2009, 05:43:36 AM »
Hi,  I came across this bass on ebay...for some reason, I've always wanted a traditional S1 even thought I have an amazing triple omega with signature electronics.  What would I be losing/gaining by going with this bass? I slap over the frets at the neck now and have always wondered if I could slap on these older models.
Here's the bass in question.

Thanks,

Ken

some have said slap style is impeded by pickup selector switch on the lower horn. haven't looked at the 77 you're considering, but a previous owner modified my 78 S1 to move that switch to the lower body. much better.

I'll drive down and check it out in person, if anyone is seriously interested in this one. The BIN is a bit high for me.
