Still looking for a second Alembic to keep my Distillate company and wondering what people think of this one:

It appears to be in great shape. Given the electronics what do people think it's worth?

It's worth more than the opening bid.
Do remember MKs are usually 34 inch scale.

Good point, Bill. It's been so long since I've played anything shorter than 34 and my last main 'player' was my Peavey Cirrus, which is 35.
Great sounding bass, very low action, but if you like to bend strings, fuggedaboudit.

I am so at home with this 32 Persuader than I feel I KNOW I will love an even shorter scale.

So, that is my next endeavor.

Shame all these sweet longer scale basses keep popping up though. So tempting!

This would be RIGHT down my alley. I have a long scale Spoiler five in this shape (with the Omega) that's quilt maple over mahogany. I think it's the most versatile wood recipe, Les Paul got it right: The honk of the maple with the mahogany standing behind it to settle it down a bit. My Elan has this electronics package and it's very versatile, what with a tone + 1-way-Q for each pickup.

My only caution would be that these are LONG instruments, so unless you're a real Alembic homer like me and must have that shape and/or you're a good-sized fella, they can be a little big for guys who may not be size 44 Long like me.

The great thing about the shape is that the fingerboard is waaayyy clear of the body, and you can play 'up the neck' easier than anything else out there.

The starting bid is a little light to me, too. Good luck, a terrific axe!

I was hoping it might be a 32 but the seller got back to me today and Bill was correct, its a 34. While I love the shape, that's a bit big for someone my size. I hope someone else in the club is the fortunate one who gets it.
