I am continually amazed at Ritter. This is the kind of thing you need to push design and imaginations into other places. Some of his shapes (like this) are design at the expense of ergonomics, but like exotic cars or couture fashion, what's practical got to do with it? And like most 'out there' designers, over time the market will decide if there's a place for it.
I do respect that like Alembic, he builds his own hardware (though I'm not sure of his relationship with ETS) and pickups.
But if Phil really paid $40K for his if I remember the recent Bass Player article correctly, this would be a bargain, though I probably wouldn't show up at the Opry with it!
