I'd be waiting at the door to buy it when the store opens tomorrow if it were right handed. Good looking deal!

Yeah - especially since it's from the Custom Shop, and not the regular production line

Just one minor clarification - this guitar is the Electrum shape.

I would have noticed that if I had only held my laptop up to a mirror.  These left handed instruments are so confusing to my poor little mind.

It's the standard shape for the Electrum guitar, which we haven't had in the catalog for years, I mean it's not like we make things easy (but I am working on model pages for even things that are not in the current catalog).

Plus, I too find that left handed instruments are harder to identify. We just flip the templates over, so they are totally mirror images, but they still look a little funny to me since I'm so used to seeing the right handed ones.

would it be difficult to turn it over if the nut was switched and the bridge reset for righty? any other problems other than knob locations and having the whammy bar on top?

Please don't attempt to change a left handed guitar to a right handed guitar. Also, please don't try to change a right handed guitar into a left handed guitar. It's really not even a slightly good idea.

Stringing a left handed guitar right handed while still playing left handed is of course OK.

Mica:

Huh?  Are you sure about that?  What's the difference between stringing a left-handed guitar right-handed and playing it left-handed vs. playing the same re-strung guitar right-handed?  Isn't it all the same to the guitar?

In my country you are still free to make poor choices.  At least for a little while longer, then the government will corner the market on making poor choices for you.

Bill, what isn't the same is the phone calls I get wondering what to do to reduce the discomfort of playing a left handed guitar right handed, as your upper arm does battle with rows of switches and knobs. Can we move the electronics to the other side?

Oh, or how can I make it balance better? since the short horn is the strap anchor now - love those calls. So while to the guitar it's sort of the same, to me it's a world of difference. I'd rather just make a right handed guitar for right handed people and a left handed guitar for left handed people. It's sort of why we make custom guitars.

I simply see no benefit in fighting the nature of the instrument. If you play with it hanging left handed, and you learned upside down, then restringing right handed doesn't fight the nature of the bass.

It's sort of like trying to get a bright sound from a solid Koa Alembic bass. I'm sure some can do it, but it's really going against the instrument's warm nature. I suppose if you want a fight, you're free to do so.

I've been down this path before. And in my country you're still free to offer advice from experience.
