#48 on Ebay ???

Not that I'm interested but is this a genuine Alembic?
It doesn't even show the logo on the headstock close enough. For $11k I would put more effort on pictures...

It looks like the real McCoy to me.  If it's #48, it's the 48th instrument, basses included, made by Alembic, not just the 48th guitar.  The price seems a bit optimistic IMHO.  It's more than twice what I paid for #10 last year.  Best of luck to the seller.

Serial No. #47, #49, #51, #52 are SSB with mustache like tail piece.  
And Tiran Porter's LSB has same tail piece, maybe the serial No. is around 40's (#38 or #43 ?).
These preamp are PF-5 on #47 and T.Porter's LSB, and PF-6 on others.
Because, I think this guitar is #48 but 73' or 74'.

Please look, this small standard body has more rounded horn than mid 70's.
and There is the screwed center lid.
These points are suggested #20 to #50 range.

That looks real to me too.  It looks a LOT like my bass which is number #47.  I currently own #47 and I owned #49.  Serial number 47 had PF5 circuitry and 49 had PF6.  Could my number 47 be the last instrument made with PF5 electronics?
 
My bass can be seen in the showcase section titled 1973 Serial Number 47.  I still have this bass and it is one of my favorites.   Right now Mica and her dad are working on the electronics for it.  I'm waiting to hear from her to see if they were successful in getting the PF5 card to work again. I am anxious to re-unite this bass with it's original electronics.

The seller said it was made 1974. So the guitar has 74-48.
Now we know last PF-5 is #47 at 1973, and first PF-6 is #48 at 1974.
