Too bad someone took a drill to it.  Still a sweet looking guitar.  If it wasn't for the holes, headstock repair, and DIY power supply, I'd be all over this one.  I still may make a run for it if the price remains at the low end of the spectrum.

This is a beautiful instrument. All the alterations don't bother me, as long as the neck is true. Ah, if only I had much more cash!

What Edwin said.  I want this so bad, and I'm so broke!

Hello,

This is for Bill or whomever else may want to answer, I was just wondering why the DIY power supply would bother him? To my knowledge, the guitar wasn't altered to add this as an option, as the 5 pin input was all ready there, and the power supply is a separate free standing piece, so am I missing something? I'm just trying to learn about this as I go, and make sure I'm representing the guitar correctly.

Thanks,
Peter (the guy who's selling this guitar on ebay)

The DIY power supply doesn't bother me and with the bid where it is now, I will be watching.

Yes I am a fan but I only know her from the film, that's where my ebay handle came from. Do you know of a reason why the DIY pwr supply would bother anyone? It doesn't make sense to me to the extent of what I know.

Peter:

The guitar originally came with an Alembic power supply, the infamous blue box.  Alembic stopped making them years ago and switched to a rack mount power supply, though they have just announced that they will again be making a run of the old style power supply.  I don't doubt that the DIY works, though I have no way of knowing if the specs are the same as the original.  Either way it's still not the original, so to the extent that I value this instrument as a collector, any change from original, as in drilled holes, repairs, and non-original power supply devalues it some in my own eyes.  Admittedly the DIY power supply probably has little if any effect on value on the general market.  The broken headstock and holes surely have more impact on value.  Nevertheless, I am interested in this guitar and will likely enter the fray before all is said and done.

The description says it is a semi-hollow body. Does that sound correct?

Series instruments are known to be extremely heavy so Alembic hollows out portions to reduce the weight, so yes

Are we sure it's a DIY box?

The box that came w/ 75-137 looked DIY, but before they did the blue boxes, that's how they looked!

The ad states that the seller's friend made the power supply.

Hello,

I should have posted pics of the power supply with the schematic in the auction. I cannot ad any more images to the ebay auction now. If anyone would like to see pics of the power supply and the schematic I could certainly send them to them or post them here. It is not the original power supply but it works perfectly.

Thanks,
Peter (seller of the guitar)
