I was looking around at versions of little wing in prep for a show this summer and came across this. It shows some shot of Carlos w/ guitar at 1:15. Enjoy! Nice slow version.

Picture speaks a thousand words.
The thing with Carlos Santana is he has such a strong recognisable tone that it whatever guitar he plays so it you can hear it. Must be in the fingers and not the axe.
One of my all time favourite guitarists. I have a strat that he autographed for me when a band ( Pato Banton) I was in opened for him in Tijuana in 1992. Great experience meeting him.

I love that subtle overdriven tone he gets no matter whether it is a Gibson LP or Yamaha SG he uses.

His tone may have something to do with his Mesa Boogie amps??

I played a Boogie Mark III for almost 20 years and then picked up a Mark IIC+, the Holy Grail of Boogie amps. Both sounded great with my Strat and 335, but my Alembics just seem to like Fender type amps better. Of course I ain't no Carlos!

I had a Boogie 1978 MK I. I also have a Boogie MK IV that I bought around the turn of the century. My Tribute sounds great through both of them. In fact I used an ABY switch for a while to play through either, or both..
