Scroll to the bottom for pictures, found this on the Ikebe website by accident. Have a look at the tailpiece (and the rest of the bass)

This bass reminds me a lot of Paul's bass (Palembic). I wish I had the priviledge of knowing him personally.

Hi,

The bass is here in Tokyo.
I saw it, but I don't try to play yet.
It was ordered as Jimmy Johnson model by the shop.
JJ are inclueded the serial number, but the bass is definitely series 1 instruments.
It seems little bit wider pitch than 70's 5 strings.
I will try to check it.

Eiji,

I know this is not related to the bass, but do you know of Yoshida Tatsuya. He is a great drummer and composer from Tokyo.

Ruins! Yoshida Tatsuya is totally related to bass, Ruins are one of my favorite bass/drum duos, totally an inspiration.

Yes, that's the Yoshida I am talking about! Truly an inspiration to me as well. I have his entire recorded output since 1990 (live video included). The man has 16 arms! All the bassists that performed with him were virtuosic, but out of them all, Masuda Ryuichi stands out. He had a certain melodic sense that none of the other bassists quite captured. His work on Burning Stone is absolute genius! I was sad to hear of Sasaki Hisashi's departure some years ago. Yoshida never was able to find another bassist, and now performs by himself to backup recordings under the name Ruins Alone.

I like his work with Koenji Hyakkei as well. (he is the composer/leader of this band too).

Yoshida lives in a world where there are no time signatures

Yo SN 12, are you really asking if the supreme custom builder, which gives you exactly what you want, can add Series electronics to a Stanley Bass or a Mark King bass, then I am laughing so hard, my body parts are falling off. Don't get mad #12, I had to laugh on the first quick read of your post.  Besides, where is this Jimmy Johnson model listed as an offering at Alembic?  Why not have a Serial #12 model while we are at it.  Is it perhaps a marketing ploy for the Far East?  The real message is that as buyers, we must have a certain scepticsm about sellers of Alembics.  How many MK standards are misrepresented as Deluxe models?  BTW PAS,don't go nuclear on me,. I still love ya man!!

Me 2 12, but Wendy's kills BK.  Of course 5 Guys beats them both.  Remember too much read meet makes it hard to keep the beat!!  I'm glad at least you have a sense of humor.

I love the Psychedelic furs, and the fur that is Psychedelic.  Thank you G-d for inventing women, they are the holy grail at/on which I pray, other than my Alembics of course.
