Alembic bass for hire?

saw this ad on craigslist and wasn't sure if it was anyone here, might be something to look into for a little extra cash

And then you find out at the show that the guy isn't channeling Entwhistle but rather a combo platter of Townsend & Hendrix. I'd want to make sure my Alembic was very well insured before agreeing to such a deal.

A previous Entwhistle for that band used to hang around here. No guarantee of anything, of course. It's not unreasonable, but it isn't exactly a spectacular offer. It certainly won't cost them anything to put a few names on a guest list for the show. If it were my area, I'd be looking for a booking as opening act. Got to love an opportunity to show your stuff for a good crowd!

i live in the chicago area but my alembic is very old & only my bridge pickup is working & i refuse to ship cross country for repairs and then wait 6 mos or more to get it back so in the meantime my other basses are my workhorses.

Yo #12, how can you live with your Alembic baby not working at 100%? If it is not being used as your workhorse, then you just created the time to send it to the Mothership for repairs and refreshment.
