I don't know which name to properly call this 'striped' ebony, but I just love it; Yamaha used this a lot for fingerboards on MIJ BB-series basses, and I just loved that they left it where you could see the stripes, instead of the usual 'black dye' job. I regret I forgot to use that when I had my Elan Five built.
A beautiful piece, and Thank You it's got a mahogany core: With maple it would have been REAL snarky.
