Found this on Craigslist on friday night. 87 spoiler cocobolo top. Original paperwork. I played a rehersal with it tonight and really loved it. This makes four for me. Anyone want a Fender?   Nick

Nice, Nick - but a Spoiler with P/J p/ups & 3 round knobs?  Seems more Persuaderish.  Is there a Q switch hiding in that dark CB top?

Hey, it's still a Spoiler body (my favorite).
The pain is about gone, but it doesn't feel like my back yet, if that makes sense; it's like I can feel the hole where the bone was, & the lowest 1/4 is stiff.  Had a about a week sleepless stopping the pain pills after 6 months, but that's done.  The worst thing now is wearing this damn brace.  Hoping to lose it after my next Dr. appt. the 21st.
And to return to the tracks, that's about the darkest CB I've seen (and did I mention that I love Spoiler bodies?).

Good to hear, peter! Now here are some of the other things that came with this bass. My biggest question is why are there three sets of electronics? The set in the body and two different sets that were in the case. One is definitely a persuader set. I have the bill of sale. But what is the other set? only two controlls? They look to be Alembic, but what do I know? Any help here? I am going to post it in the serial # section, Mica might have some files.

The one on the left looks like a Vol/Vol configuration.

The one on the right looks like a Pan/Filter/Vol.....

What's on the bass currently????

Pan/filter/vol. is currently in the bass. what would the vol/vol be good for? Fender w/active p-ups? It just suprised me that they were in there at all.

Vol/Vol/Filter was the default for Persuaders back then. Looks like a previous owner upgraded to an Essence setup.

For something different, you might want to try the Vol/Vol setup~ there's some nice comb-filtering tones when you have one pup up and roll back the other one slightly.

I think Mike is right; the V/V/F was probably the original setup, and then the V/P/F was ordered as a replacement.

At first I was thinking the set on the left may have been for a single pickup instrument, just Volume and Filter; but it looks like it may be missing something.  The reason I say that is that it looks like there are a couple connectors not plugged in to anything.

And I have a 77 J-bass refinished to Lake placid blue. All have Maple necks. I will give a super deal to club members!! Thanks
