1977 Series I at Guitar Center
« on: November 22, 2015, 07:14:12 AM »
Has anyone discussed this one at all?  It has been at GC for a while now...  and according to the pictures (I recommend using the full-screen option), it certainly is different...  The pickup selector knob is either missing or is a switch now, the three plugs (buttons?) in front of the bridge pickup are a mystery, and it sports two 5-pin Switchcraft jacks...   Hmm.   And it has what seems to be a tree-of-life inlay.  Original?  The price seems to reflect a possible admission of its uniqueness.

Any ideas?

Pierre that store is in Kentucky which is across the river from Cincinnati where I live. I have a full day tomorrow but if I get a chance on Tuesday I will try to get over there to check it out.

Pierre when I pulled it up it showed it was in Florence Kentucky but when I checked again it is actually in a suburb of Cleveland. That's a bit out of the way for me.

It's a long scale.  If it had been a medium scale, it would be sitting in my house right now.

Pierre if you know someone that lives in a city that has guitar center stores, you could probably be able to wire the money to guitar center and have the guitar shipped to a store in that persons city, have that person pick it up and ship it to you. Which should be pretty an easy turn around if you ask guitar center to pack it well for shipping. That person would just have to add your address and forward it to you without even opening it.

I asked about their policy at The Guitar Center concerning used guitar inter-store purchases. The manager said if you put down the cash, they will transfer the product to your local store, and if you don't like the bass you can return it within 30 days for a full refund.
