The power supply is fine.  I went to check out the bass yesterday.  It was user error.  The bass is in great shape, and has the original cable and power supply in great shape.  Case is perfect, but a later one.

I think this may be the same bass, now listed on ebay. Vermilion tops have come up a few times lately... it really is pretty wood, especially after it ages.
