Haramb?
« on: April 28, 2005, 02:10:58 PM »
Hi guys,

Just letting the UK contingent know that my funk/soul band, Haramb?, is out of hibernation and back on the circuit after a few months during which we concentrated on our slightly poppier side project, Broken Angel. Anyway, if you're anywhere near Ascot on Friday 29 April, Haramb? are playing at Jagz, right next to Ascot railway station.

And the trusty MK sig will be providing the bottom end!

Hope some of you can make it!

All the best,

Karl

Anutha Haramb? gig tonight, Monday 6th June, at Pop on Soho St, just off Oxford St in central London.

And if you're wanting to get in on the action, bring yer axe, cos there's an all-star jam session after the show into the small hours.

Hope some of you can make it!

After a successful Spanish tour, Haramb? are back in the UK and playing the following shows this month:

Wed 10 August: The Watershed, 267 Broadway, Wimbledon, London
Fri 12 August: Metro, 19 Oxford Street, London
Fri 19 August & Sat 20 August: The Lot, 4 Grassmarket, Edinburgh
Fri 26 August: Jagz, Ascot

Hope some of the UK Alembic contingent can make it - I can't promise I'll be using my Alembic (these are kinda intimate, funky little venues, so I'll probably be bringing out the headless Status), but there'll be some serious low-end action goin' on!

(and please bring your alembic)

Hi Graeme,

I think you can buy tickets on the door at The Lot, either on the night or in advance. With it being festival time, I'd guess it'll be pretty busy - but I'm sure you know all about that!

I'd dearly love to take the Alembic, but I've got to fly up there from London, and while I can get a headless Status slung over my back in a gigbag onboard as hand luggage, I don't think they'll let me get away with that with the hard-cased Alembic. And there's no way I'm letting those baggage handling monkeys chuck her into the hold - I've heard too many horror stories!

Anyway, it'd be great to meet another Alembophile! Do please come and say hello if you make it!

Cheers,

K.

Well, what a fantastic Gig Harambe in Edinburgh turned out to be. The whole band are obviously very professional; Karls' playing is really funky and flawless, and boy what a front man their singer is. The Status Kingbass lent itself perfectly to the sound, I hate to admit an Alembic probably couldn't have done any better ;-(
It was really nice chatting with Karl and i'd like to see Harambe playing again so keep us informed of any upcoming gigs. I'm surprised they don't have a mainstream recording contract - they certainly put jamiroquai and the current incarnation of Level 42 to shame.

Thanks for the kind words, Graeme! It was good to meet you guys - thanks ever so much for coming down. We had a great time playing and really fell in love with the city - though I guess the weather isn't always so good!

I'll certainly be posting details of further gigs up here to keep you informed - although we've got another album to be getting on with over the next few months.

And best of luck with your gig on Wednesday, Graeme - show 'em what an Alembic can do!

Well, we're supposed to be holed up in the studio recording the new album, but we've all got itchy fingers so we've got a one-off show for you in central London. If you're around Soho on Monday 24th October, Haramb? will be playing some of their trademark soul and funk at Pop on Soho St that evening. Please come and join us, and bring yer axe, cos there's always a jam session after the show at this venue! My Alembic will be putting in an appearance . . .
