Real time gig spam!

Ok so the band retooled - we canned our d!ckhead deadbeat drummer, flushed the old singer and put the stoner keyboard player kid on double secret probation. we've got ball-of-fire singer that's moonlighting with us. plus i'm playing a new bass that's kinda defined our new sound

Since the d!ckhead ex-drummer named our old band, we'd been waffling on a new band name when i made some off-hand remark about real time (what can i say? i'm a dyed-in-the-wool software engineer) and everyone jumped on it. not my first choice for a band name but who cares at this point? this band is the hottest one i've ever been in but the wheels could come off next week for all i know. we don't have a picture (other than what i've posted here) or a website or a demo or any of that other happy horsesh!t yet.

so after all that drivel, the point is we're playing a benefit for the troops in front of what apparently is gonna be a huge crowd. I guess we're up first and our singer is doing the star spangled banner before we start our set.

well we're going up tonight at 5:00.

our singer is doing the national anthem (a cappela) to kick off the show.  if the weather's good the spyder, series II 5-string and the series I fretless are gonna be on stage with me and will all get played at some point in the show. all through the stereo tube rig of doom.  it'll be interesting to see how the sound guy deals with that!
if the weather sucks then the steinberger (a.k.a. black betty - never goes outta tune, my trusty standby bar hopping bass) will do the show.

come on down!

Good luck, Tim. Hope the weather allows you to play the Alembics. But authentic Steinbergers are nice too..

..(I once heard Don Knotts, aka, Barney Fife singing a capela on an episode once..lol.)

well the gig went great. we were up first so the crowd was kinda sparse. they had a pro running the board and i was able to get an almost studio quality (mono- 'cause i was outta patch cords to run from the board to my laptop  )

i gotta find a free site to host the music files ala tiny pic for photos. anybody got any suggestion?

at any rate, here's a few shots...

went on stage sporting full wood and the stereo rig of doom:

the rest of the crew. this band is most fun i've ever had with my clothes on! we've only been together 3 weeks, stole the singer from another band and now we're kicking ass, baby! we're gonna hafta get a name at some point..
