Hi Everyone.

I've got a booking for this Saturday at Tizley's Europub located at 18928 Front St. in beautiful downtown Poulsbo, WA from 8-10. I'll present everything from a stand alone instrumental version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow, to a looping five voice synth version of Lowrider by War. Come say hello if you get the chance.

Love to see the show but it's kind of a long drive from Texas. More videos would be most excellent.

My house is about an hour or so from Poulsbo, you're welcome to come over and hang out if you do happen to drive up.

dwmark, thank you for your welcome. I'm sure I'll be around a while. Nice place ya'll have here.

Olie, in the event you're on the way as I'm typing this, be assured if you show up you've got a place to crash out for a couple of days to recoup from that drive. FYI. I grew up in north Louisiana and lived in Marshall and south of Houston (Lake Jackson/Surfside/Clute) for awhile, so I know personally how long a drive that is. Also, if you do happen to make it, we'll have a Pac NW style BBQ and grill up some salmon.

Bradley, hey neighbor! My Mom and one of my sisters live in Kent and I've been through the Covington area many times. If senior management gives the okay and you make it over this way, you'll recognize me pretty easily, as I'll be the one playing bass.

Hi Everyone.

A video from Saturday night at the Europub in Poulsbo, WA. Somewhere Over the Rainbow and Vincent (up to the bridge). I could say it was technical difficulty, but truth of the matter is I had a 'brain fart' and rather than commence playing some 'jazz', I 'noodled' out, saved the tune, let out a sigh of relief and moved right along with my fast paced Las Vegas type show.

A shame Bradley, or Olie didn't show up, as at the end they could have made up a third of the 'crowd'. It kind of reminded me why I quit playing, though I don't see that being the case this time around. I'm having too much fun.

Thank you John. I enjoy playing 'heels off'. It's much more comfortable and as well, a whole lot easier to turn knobs and push buttons on my effects devices.

Olie, thank you very much. I really appreciate the comments. It's nice to have the recognition, but more so the validation. Bass Soloist? What? Huh? I've heard that a few times here of late. People say they didn't understand when hearing about a bass soloist. Then when they hear me, they say ahhhh...now I get it.

Another video from last night. It hasn't gone live on Youtube yet, (as of 3:00ishPM Sunday), but...sooner or later I would certainly hope so.

Low Rider.

I had posted previously it had five synth voices but when I thought about it and counted, there were only four! Yikes! What to do, what to do??? After muttering to myself for awhile it came to me, add another voice! Thus the harmonica section on one of the choruses. Only one time though because as I immediately realized (to my dismay), while sounding okay in the living room, when I went live, the two voices weren't balanced with each other (I hate it when that happens).

Anyway, I'll tweak the settings and will likely continue onwards with five, not four, synth voices. As an added bonus, it's turning into quite the crowd pleaser. Not bad at all for running it live last night for the third time. One of those things that make you go hmmm... Right out of 'left field', a new 'hit' for my act. And she 'scores' another one! Heheheheh...

That was pretty cool. And here's the beauty of youtube: more people, far more people, have now seen you perform than were at your gig. This lessens the depressing-ness of playing live, doesn't it? At least a bit.

Thank you hb3. You're absolutely right, the exposure from Youtube definitely reaches much further than the gig itself. Do I expect to get 'rich and famous'? Not hardly, but I tell ya, it sure is fun.

And you're also right it does, as you say, At least a bit.

So, last one for awhile, (probably...).

One I use as a filler entitled, 'Got Blues?'. Bass line and chords on the looper, lead bass, sax and trumpet on the synth.

Thanks for the video links, Kimberly. Those are always fun. The late, great Ronnie Van Zant, RIP, would perform bare foot. He said it was so he could feel the energy come from the stage.

I play bare footed at Church. I tried it on a whim one Sunday because one of our guitar players does it sometimes. The first time I did it, I found it to be incredibly freeing. And I believe it helps me to get into Worshipping more. There is biblical basis for it as well.
