Blue Stuff up to something
« on: February 20, 2007, 01:45:06 AM »
Hi Bro's and Sis's,

Blue Stuff -where yours truly is keeping pace at low frequency zones- is gigging in Caf? l' Is 't Waar in Oud-Heverlee on Sat 24 febr 2007
More: we are going to record the show to CD (in a more or less professional way).
And there is more more: we are working at a website -at last- that will be active in the upcoming months!
This is a teaser

An idea for the first page!
CU soon

Snif-snif ...sob ...snobbel ...bouhaaaaaaa ...snob-snif sob ...bwei-ei-eih.
No -sob- she is still in -snif- Holland!
There is no time anymore left to get her over!
I didn't play her in about 7 months.
So ...it will be the A-bass to do the job (which is -by all means- partially Alembic so ...kinda ok!)
I'll keep you posted!

Hehehehe
That's my Keavin!
Well ...that's Bonnie indeed!
Aside her is the absolutely FANTASTIC ladysinger in a band I played in before (beware ...I liked her singing, she was quite a character!!!!).

Jacko the story is simple: my trusted Bonnie was TOUGHT to have an electronic failure and I brought her to Edwin (Van Huik - www.connectionbult.com : the Alembic importeur this side of the pond).
Happily nothing was wrong and she is in absolutely good hands (and showing off in Edwins store in Hilversum)
Unfortunately nor Edwin nor I were able to get to each other to make the return of Bonnie possible!
It's sad because I KNOW she would love to contribute to this recording!
She is rather jealous as you probably know!
Hehehehe

I even have a better idea!
Just hop over to Belgium and be my guest!
It's only about 250km.
Belgium is more fun (hehehehe)

Amsterdam is pretty close to Hilversum (from an Alembic point of view).

Paul, not to take anything away from Belgium, but just about any place is more fun than Amsterdam.

Wow... I guess all the stories we've heard on this side of the pond are fabrications. Hmmm.

Personally, I have only been to the airport in Amsterdam where I got off a plane to pick up the rental car and drive to Volendam/Edam for business and I always thought that Amstedam had to be more fun than those places... maybe if I hadn't been working?

Amsterdam is GREAT!!
It's beautiful, unique, interesting, energetic and laid back at the same time.

The city centre of Amsterdam appearantly has enough outstanding universal value to be nominated for being added to the World Heritage List of UNESCO.

I just love the vibe of the city and I think it's one of the world's most fun and unique cities. Definately worth visiting!

...and yes, Edwin's Bass Connection is close by....

Duncan, one man's heaven may be another man's hell. Unique, yes. Special places to visit, yes. But the vibe just doesn't seem to agree with me.

Plus you don't want to know what circles of Ons Soort Mensen (Our Kind Of People) have a say in the Unesco World Heritage List.

Of course I totally respect your gut feeling about the city, Adriaan. Indeed it is very personal. I was merely stating my view to balance the scale a bit...

Back on the subject: looking forward to hear your CD Paul!

Btw, I did see Bonnie at Edwin's shop. I recognized it instantly, even before knowing you brought it over to him. So she's just sitting there with the sold sign on it... Listen, if you need someone to take Bonnie out of that shop for a stroll, I would gladly pick it up ;-)

Paul
I am looking forward to the CD.  Please keep me posted.  Will there be sound samples on the website?  I have to agree with you about the Drive singer.  She's got a perfect blues voice.

Hi Friends,

about Amsterdam!
I agree with Adriaan that someone's heaven can be someone's hell!
Seen my ab-so-lu-te-ly charming personality (hehehe ...I know ...I AM bad nevertheless) I would gladly welcome friends and club-members from over the pond, channel, border or all over the world in my humble home!

Bonnie ***sigh*** I will get her back very soon I hope! I hope someone is playing her from time to time ...

The show/recording went well ...I was told! I don't judge myself on bass-playing but I am quite sure there were some points in the show I completely messed up a bass-line.
Oh well ...that's life (and live) I guess!

Yep ....sound smaples will be available but not downloadable for legal reasons.

As soon that I have pictures ...they will be here and on the site to come!

Cheers!

Paul the bad one!
