_and_ playing bass!

The Buffalo Community Theater (www.buffalocommunitytheater.com) production of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown runs the second and third weeks of February.

I'm not sure what they were thinking when they picked me: I'm kind of tone-deaf, I don't sing at all (and can't help the singers), have only a passing familiarity with the treble clef, and the lst think I conducted was in 1973: my high school pep band's rendition of Up Up and Away in My Beautiful Balloon.

I am _so_ screwed.

From what I've read of the off-broadway production, a lot of the material is half-spoken, and even the sung parts depend more on enthusiasm than skill; so you'll be fine!

Just remember to keep that long pointy thing you wave around at the other musicians away from your eyes and you should be fine. :-)

It's a small pit: piano, bass, drums, and another keyboard covering the other important lines. Almost all of the songs have the orchestra starting at least a couple measures before the singers, so they can get their tempo that way.

Since I'm also playing bass, I hope to keep the stick waving to a minimum.
