Hey, all,
I am playing tonight at The Century Lounge
in Providence, R.I.,  Acoustic and Electric Dead, all night. We have been out 5-6 times, a fairly new band.  A slightly different approach,  we lean more toward the 3 part harmony songs, but, there is always a little jamming. Hope to see anyone who might be out in the area,  stop in and say hello

Hi Kenn,
Good to see you on the site.
Do you take your Series 1 on every gig??............and, if yes, don't you ever worry about getting her damaged/stolen??
I rarely take mine out now due to this fact.
It sems that the 76 Series is now finally attracting a lot of potential buyers/thieves.
Maybe it's just me being hyper!!

George

George,

Yes, I do take take the Series I to most gigs, although I have a couple of bands that I play in that I use my Epic, different voice, great sound. I very rarely loose sight of the stage area when I play, we mostly play long sets with only 1 break. The Series I has been a part of my sound for so long, since 1978, that I just can't imagine playing anything else. I admit to being hooked on Alembics.
I looked at your profile, she is a beauty.

Thanks Kenn!

Yeah, she sounds as good as she looks.
The odd times I do take her out, I have my eye on her all the time during breaks. I think really, it's the fear of her being damaged that really worries me. I never seem to be able to relax with worrying about her all the time. A lot of the places we play don't warrant a bass of such quality. Most of the Tribespeople wouldn't know a semibreve from a gorrila's butt!

Well, It's that time again.  We are returning to the Century lounge in Prov., R.I. tomorrow night, Sat. 1.24.09.  Come on down  and say hello.
Yes, the Series I will be on the gig, loud and clear.

We made a couple of changes in the band and I'm looking for input to see what you all think.  The new line up are the tunes from Dire Wolf thru Black Peter.  All are live, off the board mixes to my Zoom H-2. The bass is a little weak, except on Black Peter which was on a different night. I moved this here as I think I posted to the wrong area.

Very nice pedal steel on Dire Wolf!!  And the solo and guitar work on Candy Man is really nice as well!

Dave,
Thanks for the listen,  Richard is quite a guitar
player. That pedal steel on Dire wolf is actually Richard playing slide. It's a technique
that he worked out, you can hear more of it on The Wheel. The tunes after Black Peter
are the old line-up, and just pratice tapes. They are very different from the live stuff. Anyway,
 thanks for the kindness.

I would like to hear you guys live but , alas_____ there is a slight logistics detail as I am over on the West  Coast. Perhaps next time that I visit my brother in-law over in Maryland .He is a great Dobro player.
