Looking forward to reports of your progress. I don't make room for a lot of regrets in life, but one thing I very much wish I had followed through with was upright bass lessons. I chanced to meet a great player and teacher through a mutual musical acquaintance, and in a very short time he showed me what I was missing, and what was possible if I unlearned some things that were holding me back. I have had many friends and mentors, but Bob Thomas (name is coincidence here...) was the one who had that rare ability to teach a hard-headed string-strangler like me. Unfortunately, Bob died rather suddenly in 2011, before I could realize that plan.
