I did a theatre gig last night and took my series I Europa and my Orion as a backup. Not that I needed it.
After I took a pic of my setup I noticed how close the two bass bodies are. I think i'm right in thinking the Orion evolved from the Europa but I hadn't looked really closely before last night. 
I didn't actually use the Orion tho.

I had significant amounts of indecision around which of those body shapes to use when I placed my most recent order.  I went with the Orion, mostly out of familiarity with the body shape.  They're both lookers.

So cool to have them sitting side by side.

I remember reading Mica-san saying, Orion shape is basically an Europa shape, adopted to the set-neck construction. 
Both very elegant offset body, my favorite.

Yes I recall reading that too, but didn't really see it until this photo.

That came from the description on the old Alembic site :-)

The Orion has a continuous inner curve of the horns, like the Epic and Excel. So the body meets the neck at a much lower point on the bass side.

The fretless neck through Orion I used to own had an almost continuous inner curve, but with the little "uptick" to the neck for both horns:
