The posting guidelines suggest:

Keep in mind that this discussion board is being provided for our use by our hosts at Alembic, and a link to the board is prominently displayed on Alembic?s web site. We are essentially in their home and we should act as if we were invited into the very living room of the Wickersham household.

Yes, i always keep that in mind; I didn't think a joke about cokehead rock stars violated it.

I'm with Peter on this one.  The etch-a-sketch/coke meme was funny and not offensive in any manner - especially on a rock 'n roll related forum.  Neither was it partisan political, nor disparaging of any particular group or person.  Cocaine came to cultural prominence around the same time as Alembic.  Many of the people who were indulging in coke were the same people who were indulging in boutique guitars and basses.  And where do we draw the line?  Are weed jokes also verboten?  Mentions of other instrument manufacturers?  Knowing Ron, Susan, Mica, Mary, et al., I can't imagine any of them being offended by the post in question.  In this particular situation, I honestly believe the mods' reaction was inappropriate.

He was travelling light.
