Yeah - Jimmy Webb is one of the all-time great songwriters.  And Glen did his stuff pretty OK: "Wichita Lineman", "Galveston", "By The Time I Get To Phoenix"; not a bad partnership atall, atall.

No one today.

I've read that Bob Dylan considers Wichita Lineman to be the best song ever written!

Gotta be close, anyway; I mean, how many blue collar love songs are there?
Not C&W "Yeah, I'm a workin' man & yer my woman" ones, but everyday, out-on-a-non-glamourous-but-vital-job blue collar love songs?
It's freakin' brilliant.

Some years back, I saw a cartoon; him as a kid (with the same hair, of course).  From off stage, a speech balloon:  "Donald King, I told you not to stick your thang in that electric outlet!"

Duane Eddy (1938)

Ya know, it has been rankling me all day since I saw Gary's (greatly appreciated) post that the Vintage Guitar calendar lists people like Ace Frehley & David Cassidy - but not Ron
There oughta be a law!
In fact, let's get one - everybody, write to your elected officials repeatedly, and be such a massive cause of buttockal agony that just to shut us up, April 26 will be declared the federal Ron Wickersham Holiday!

Happy birthday, ron!
