Lovely looking bass, were you looking long before you found the right one?

Yes I was. had to be 32" scale as well.
I am going to have Mica look into the serial number to get get the specs on the bass.
Thank you all for the kind words and the encouragement. There is NOTHING like an Alembic bass.

I'm glad I could help with the fund raising! It has worked out well for me, too. (Craig was the previous owner of my new to me Modulus).

Thank you Edwin.

Nice top! Congrats!

You get an Alembic and life changes for you. :D
Happy days!

Life change for my self were an increased cognizance and awareness of my needed improvements. Thus an increased focus and love of my role as a bassist. The reward is an eternity of sonic reflection and listening with an appreciation of Alembic instruments .

Nice. I have a 1980 series 1 as well.

Very nice! And medium scale, too! Awesome.

I love the bass. Turns out it has a slight back bow(even with the truss rods totally loose). Bass sat in the closet for 8 years. Going to put some heavier gauge strings on, might have to have some fret leveling done. Its not that bad, bass is playable.....but not perfect and I have come this far.

If you're using rounds, then I have found that DR Lo-Riders are higher tension strings - I have had a similar issue with one of my basses.
Oh, and congrats! Cool that its destiny is intertwined with Edwin's 6-string Modulus!

Thanks man. I just sent for a set of D'Addario Half Round 45-100, I had first put on a light set first 40-95's. Yesterday tried Pyramid flats which were way too light. I think the Half Rounds will do the trick, being its close with the lighter gauge. I dig the connection to Edwin as well !!!!!

I had a similar problem with my Elan 4 when I first got it and not the advice of one of the forum members I used some R-Cocco strings and that helped immensely. However they were really rough to the touch and I've since put D'addario Pro-steels on and that seems to be fine.
