Post by: srfogel on April 23, 2025, 10:34:25 AM
this was not my build but it was a featured custom called Hot Lava.  Purchased from the original owner

https://club.alembicguitars.com/info/fc_hotlava.html

would come with the DS -5R, the case and the paperwork

pretty much mint.

for someone on this forum, $15K

Oh man......this is ticking ALL my boxes!  Right down to a rackmounted power supply.....  Are you allowed to buy 2 Series Basses within 11 months?!?! (Actually, it would be 3.... Leviathan counts as two Series instruments)

Updating this post.  Anybody want to swap a Series II 5 or 6 for my 4 string Hot Lava series II link above?  I just don't play 4 string anymore.

The old featured custom page is not yet available on this new site, so might be better if you could post some pictures. I think it might be this one but i can't find a completion photo.

Thanks for posting the link — I've wanted to know what that bass looked like for a while, and somehow hadn't seen that thread.

Thanks. Wow! Really like that shape. Never saw one like that. They should make more like that. Seems very well balanced. The top and back look amazing. Very nice instrument! One of the nicest Alembics I have seen  ❤️
