Hello All,
Putting my Custom Europa 6-String Bass on the market. Due to my arthritis, I cant play the wider necks anymore. Have to go back to 4 strings going forward.

Interesting to see the green / blue overspray in the battery compartment. Was it initially going to be another color?
one too many strings and lined fingerboard takes it off my shooping list. interesting that this has never showed up in my reverb feed or searches. not the first time, apparently. good luck to all!

In the description on Reverb;
"that cavity looks green because originally I had Emerald Green, but at the time it was to bright for me, so I had it changed to the translucent black."
Damn - that is one fine looking bass.
Really like this one. Really wish they made 6 -string Alembics with smaller string spacing (like the small spacing on Jimmy Johnson's 5-string). That would make the necks also less gigantic. Do all Alembic 6-strings have the same string spacing? If it was smaller I would be really tempted for this bass. What does EDS stand for?
Hi,
It is a wide neck, but the spacing feels right for me for bass. But yea, that is the trade off. My hands just aren't what they used to be. EDS are my initials.

Ok thanks. Yes too bad they make the neck so wide on the 6 strings. As opposed to the tiny necks on most 4 string Alembics.
I am used to 14 and 15mm string spacing for my 6 string basses. Everything above 16,5mm is too wide for me. Maybe a smaller 6 string neck with small string spacing would also work for you?
Thanks, I'm ok going back 4. I play a lot of guitar as well. So a 4-string Series I would work just fine, lol.
Can you spell it out for me, what are the electronics, and what is the string spacing?
Hi,
Standard Europa Electronics:
- Volume Control: Adjusts the overall output.
- Pan (or Blend) Control: Mixes the output between the neck and bridge pickups.
- Low-Pass Filter: Sweeps the cutoff frequency to roll off high-end. Like a normal tone control when Q switch is off, more active around the cutoff when Q switch is on.
- Q Switch (On/Off): Changes the resonance peak at the filter's cutoff frequency. (Classic Alembic Q filter)
- Bass Boost/Cut Switch: A 3-position switch (boost/flat/cut) tailored for the low frequencies.
- Treble Boost/Cut Switch: A 3-position switch (boost/flat/cut) for controlling higher frequencies.
- Switch to turn the LEDs on/off
Center of string 6 to center of string 1, 1 & 7/8th inches at the nut and 3 & 4/8th inches at the bridge.
Well, this one is off the market, having been acquired by me.
Very cool and a fair price!
Congratulations.
Enjoy.
