I have long been in awe of Victah's talent! (But man, do those Foderas leave me cold.......).

If you haven't read his book The Music Lesson, I think you might find it worth a look.

Really cool that he has the bass that was used on School Days. That's a piece of bass history.

I also noticed that he is 'complaining' that the Point bass is too big and the first fret is too far away. That's why I am looking for a 32" or short scale series 1 instead of a 34". But never played one so I am not sure if the long scale will be a problem or not? What is your experience with this?

It is big, but wasn't too big for me (pretty comfortable actually)

We Dutchies are generally larger than the average Americans, I was pretty amazed I had too look down a bit when I was standing in front of James Hetfield. (always thought he was a giant, which I guess for USA standard he is) :-)

If I would go for another standard point body, I will also go for  32 inch scale. Not for comfort, but for sound. (they tent to be darker/heavier in tone in my (limited) experience)

Not all Dutchies, though. 8)

The Balance K shape is an evolution of the classic large body shape that takes care of the reach issue.

I think I enjoy his fretless playing more than anything else. He's a monster talent, and a very down-to-earth guy. The Music Lesson was a great book too. Wish to my soul I could remember who I loaned my copy to!
