Title: Woods comparison test video
Post by: KR on May 09, 2026, 05:51:58 PM
I just watched and listened to this on Youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Y_tyUjkkhA. In this test Zebrano was similar to Alder, which surprised me. I like that they used a mechanical strum method. Koa sounded different than the other woods. Density and moisture are considerations, too.

I wish they had two different examples of each wood type. Density (weight) is also something to consider no matter the wood type. I'm sure Mica can share a lot about this.

Sounded to me like zebrano did best at providing openness with warmth.  I would like to see the charts separately rather than layered on top of each other.
