Hello everyone,

I'm considering purchasing an Alembic Spoiler 4-string bass with serial number 96S9967, and I would greatly appreciate any help confirming its original factory build record and specifications.

According to the seller, the bass is a 1996 Spoiler 4-string with the following specifications:
- Quilted Maple top
- Honduras Mahogany body
- Maple/Walnut neck-through construction
- Ebony fingerboard
- Original Alembic pickups and electronics
- Original Alembic brass hardware
The seller also refers to the electronics as "AAE-1", although I'm not sure whether that is the correct factory designation, so I would particularly appreciate clarification on the original electronics package.

If the factory file is available, I would be very grateful to know:
- Exact build/completion date ("birthday")
- Top wood and its original grade, if recorded
- Body/core wood
- Neck laminates
- Scale length
- Fingerboard and inlays
- Original pickups
- Original electronics package
- Any custom options or special-order features
- Original dealer or shipping destination, if available
I'm especially interested in confirming whether the Quilted Maple top was factory-original and whether the pickups/electronics currently installed match the original build specification.

I have attached several photos of the bass, including the serial number, for reference.

I also recently emailed Mica regarding this instrument, but I understand the Alembic team may be very busy, so I thought I would post the request here as well.

Thank you very much for any information you can provide. I really appreciate the help.

Best regards,

These requests can take a while, but in the meantime I would say the wood description seems accurate, though they left out the part about that nice purpleheart laminate between the maple and mahogany.

Have you seen the bass in person or is this a 'remote' sale?

That's a sweet looking bass, pickups look original,  not sure about electronics package.   Others here may provide insight before Mica can pull the build card.

Good luck.
