yeah that made me do a double-take.  maybe the seller's a lurker here?

so currently on reeveerb there's 2 SII's and 6 S1's priced considerably below $34k (USD) (a few of which i'd consider better outfitted. imho.  ymmv. and all that rot) that have been there for months & months. i say, good luck with that sir!  i'm sure glad i'm not having to sell any of mine.

I've got a feeling this one is on consignment. It looks like the seller's shop has quite a few higher-end bass guitars. I'm not 100% sure there's a brick and mortar store, but there's a website and phone/email contact for 'Slapstore'. Like I said fellas... a guy walks in your place with an item like that, wants to sell, you have to see what you can get. And you don't start low. A consignment fee up here is 10-20%, depending on what the desired net is. No idea what they get in Florida but I'd guess more.

We never see basses like that here, but I see this same conversation play out two or three days a week at the store with some very high-end guitars. When they get listed on Reverb too, the price goes up incrementally to cover the extra fees and shipping costs. If you just walk in to buy, then it's mano-y-mano dealing until you reach the consignor's bottom dollar.

Now I'd never suggest that someone just bypass the hive of scum and villainy that is Reverb... but if I really wanted that bass and didn't want to play silly buggers, I'd just call the guy.

well the DW came from a flipper, but i gotta say the guy was up front, worked with me on the price and packed it for shipping like he actually knew what he was doing.  pretty sure the guy he bought it from took a haircut, tho. so not a lotta difference from a B & M in that regard. i gotta say there are some bottom feeders out there that i'd never deal with, along with the B & M's.  i guess if yer in the market and ya gots yer eyes set on a prize then ya gotta be prepared to take a chance and dance the dance.  i would've much rather have dealt with a clubber.  but it worked out for me. others not so much.  it's a shark tank out there!  good luck to all!
