1979 Series I @ Guitar Center

No affiliation.  I spoke with them yesterday and they have the original case and power supply.  It's 34" scale.

It's in rough shape.  Good player instrument at that price.  Assuming everything works as it should.

Someone save me: Series I @ GC

Same as my old Series I. It is a fantastic instrument, player grade or no. Why hang 'em on the wall to look at when they sound so good!

With that check in it, I wonder whether the back isn't Peruvian Walnut.

That is kinda' what it does, runs to a relief point, but my gut thinks that bass is schedua. The rest of those sideways finish checks are typical for the Polane finish of the time. 

I guess if $5k is the going rate for a player-grade Series bass, I wouldn't let that split scare me off. It's been there for years. It's ugly but isn't structural.

I thought the front was shedua, but the back looked different to me. It is lighter than the Peruvian Walnut I've seen.
