I never saw Luther Allison, but I did see his son Bernard Allison; great blues guitar player.

He's still playing and recording with recent stuff on youtube.

I never saw Luther, either.  But the last band I worked for had a keyboardist who had been in his band.  And the first guy I worked for (we were also housemates) had some of his albums - which got heavy play.
I'll have to check out Bernard.

And on the subject of blues progeny, check out Ronnie Baker Brooks; son of Lonnie Brooks, who I had the honor of knowing, and doing for multiple times.
