Freshman year of college, I somehow ended up in charge of the daytime coffeehouse concert budget at my college, and booked her for a gig in late March of 1992. Her early performances were just unbelievable.

My connection to today's list is one name up.  When I first went to college in '74, I quickly became close friends with a guy from Freehold, NJ (the one who dubbed me "Cozmik Cowboy"; I named my youngest after him, and we're still in occasional contact).  He turned me on to this guy he'd gone to high school with, and whose little sister he'd dated for a while; said the guy's 3rd album had just come out.  So I ran out & bought all 3.
A few weeks later, Born To Run hit massively.
I was 18, and Bruce was writing songs that spoke directly to me.
He kept writing like that - but I haven't been 18 for more than a week now......

On a side note, my friend ended up teaching at that college for 40 years - and has 2 self-issued albums of originals.
