I've got probably 10 Ultimate guitar stands (give or take) that I can bring. I'm assuming they'll handle a bass. If not, someone let me know and I'll leave them at home.

For the local fellows, anybody would be interested in a Trace Elliot combo ? It's a Series 6 GP12, pre-Gibson. I'll try to attach a pic.
I know it's not the nicest thing to do giving the that the host store is Bag End but I'll try to keep it quiet.  
The amp has been serviced and updated by the TE guys in Sugar Grove.

Having no doubt missed an earlier post in this thread that directly addresses my questions, I have a couple of questions:
 
Should I bring an amp?
 
Should I bring other instruments for folks to diddle with to satisfy any curiosities?  (the G&L? Dean 12-string?)

My understanding is we'll be playing through BagEnd gear.
 Don't know about the alternate instruments, I believe it's players choice...

Regarding the after-gathering activities, we  should come to some sort of consensus as to what people want to eat and hear. If we have a big enough group, we won't be able to simply walk in and expect to find a table. Regarding blues clubs, I'm really out of my element. As I mentioned, I haven't been to one in nearly 15 years. If people want to go to dinner, we probably should have the restaurant and club be fairly close, so we're not driving all over Chicago on a Saturday night. If people want to be downtown, I guess we could check out Buddy Guy's Legends - don't know if that's too trendy. If we're going to be up in the DePaul/Lincoln Park area, there's also tons of places to eat and there use to be a couple of cool blues places - Kingston Mines and B.L.U.E.S. I don't know if they're still there or if they are still any good. Perhaps the Bag End guys could offer an opinion. And Mike, if you have any suggestions, please weigh in.

I checked out Buddy Guy's Legends last July.  A cool down home club and bar, not in the least bit upscale or trendy ... dare I say a little funky even?  I've heard that Buddy shows up and jams every once in a while, but he was nowhere to be seen the night I was there.  Probably just a rumor that makes for good publicity?  But as to the question, what to eat and what to hear, personally, my answer is food and music.  Anything is fine with me as I'm going for the camaraderie (as I expect most everyone is).  In that regard, a dinner establishment that isn't too noisy might be preferable so we can hear each other around the table.

How about a restaurant in the Barrington area so that those that can't make it downtown can still join for dinner?
 
I'm sure our hosts at Bag End can recommend an appropriate restaurant in the area. We can probably get a head count when we get there and then just call ahead for a reservation.
