Have been following casually but now I'm riveted. Tried to find this in the archive but couldn't--what's the scale?

I just realized that the tuning keys are opposite of the norm. 3 on the bottom and 2 on the top. At first glance I thought it was a lefty but after seeing the back saw that it was a right handed. Pretty cool, I love these kind of details!

IIRC the 2+3 has been the standard for medium and short scale 5 strings for a couple of years now.

Both my MK's are the opposite, then again they are 34 & 35 scale basses. The 35 is a 98 model and the 34 is a 05 Model.

Actually there is no standard in regards to the 2+3 on shorter scales. It's all about what the customer wants. Jeff specifically asked for 2+3 instead of 3+2.

I never get to see your bass before it's prepped:
But, at least you can see how most of the thirsty burls are full.

It does look great, but I'm still waiting to see it all shiny before Bob sands it for the next coat. There is plenty of clear on it right now. It's hard to see it through the scuffed sanded surface though.
Maybe I will get lucky tomorrow!

What can I say? Absolutely gorgeous! I LOVE the PH lam. (or is that vermilion too? It looks purplish on my monitor).
