I uploaded pictures to the showcase here: http://club.alembic.com/Images/411/53445.html?1215418802

In 1993 or so [the days before these forums, I believe], I received a fax from either Susan or Mica describing some brief history about this bass and how to do the 1/4 jack mono modification, but I've never actually gotten the full pedigree of this bass. I hate to admit it, but I don't even know the woods used in this bass (other than they sound great!)

Regards,

Tom

Hi Tom,

Found these build record details in the file:

top and back: Walnut
body: Cherry
through-body neck: Maple, Beech, Purpleheart, 34 long scale
fingerboard: Ebony with mother of pearl oval inlays
peghead veneers: Padauk (Vermilion)
birthday: May 11, 1977
originally made for: Rothchild

In addition to the letter you wrote to us in 1990, there are some repair notes from 1981. The list of things repaired are:
1. fix crack in neck
2. refinish
3. refret
4. add side LEDs
5. new knobs
6. clean brass
These repairs were all done between April 6, 1981 and July 17 when it was shipped back by air freight to a customer in Wisconsin. The production notes indicate we spent about 28 hours repairing and modifying this bass.

There are some notes in the  regarding rewiring your 1/4 jack or making a stereo to mono cable. I'm not sure if you did the 1/4 jack mod or not.
