Has anyone checked out the database on the Ric site? It would be pretty cool to do something like that here, but in the meantime, hats off to Flip and Eiji!!!!

Using Flip's chart & various posts, I've been trying to figure out the first 25 Alembics - what they were and who they were built for (what can I say - I'm an archivist, & I have way too much spare time). So far I have this:

I remember a Female Bass player that had an early Alembic Bass that might fit in there some where. It had a resemblance to #12 !!!!! I saw her play numerous times with a band fronted by LISA KINDRED called ASCENSION and other local musical groups . I don't remember for sure but her nick name might have been Mouse

I Do not know her real name . I saw them many times at MARX MEADOWS in the GOLDEN GATE PARK in San Francisco. I also remember them when they came to record at Leo De Gar Kulka's recording studio ( Golden State Recorders) Where I was an Audio Engineering student at the College for Recording Arts at the time , I was present at the session. This would have been around 1975 or so. IT WAS A KOOOL BASS !!!!!! that I do remember !!!.

The list is shaping up nicely! But just a couple of things.... I was always under the impression that Stanley's first bass was from 1973. It had PF5 electronics. I don't think it would be on this early list.

Also, I played 72-17. It was NOT a bass!

Thank you, Michael - Val's post said 17 was Jack's, and I just assumed it was a bass (even knowing he started out as a lead guitarist). That's exactly the kind of help I was hoping for.
So, what can you tell us about 72-17? Shape, scale, woods, circuitry, etc? Don't suppose you have pictures, eh?
