I am the owner of this gorgeous guitar. 1986 strat style. serial#86E4159. 24 fret, neck through, figured maple and mahogony, three pickup (2 single, one humbucker, Alembic active electronics, volume and tone knobs, 5 way selector switch, Khaler locking tremelo. It's in excellent condition. Any way of determining it's value?

Beautiful guitar!  (By the way, anyone know if Zapf's is still in business?)
I used to think I was indecisive, but now I'm not so sure.

What a wonderful guitar.  What type of Tremelo is that?  Did it come with the guitar or was it added later?

It's a Kahler tremelo. It came with the guitar.

Any idea how long it takes to get serial number info? It's been over a month.

Mica, who does the look-ups, has about 1,000,000 actual job functions, and provides this service in her free time; it can take a while (I seem to recall mention of about 1 year right now.  I'm telling you, Mica, company archivist )

Well if it's any help i put my request in January and then I was about 100 in the list according to mica, although she has a sense of humour and it could have been 1000,001 or less than 100. Unfortunately there is no set time and really for these requests, patience really is a virtue.

Oh well... I guess I'll just check in periodically.

Many years ago I called and asked for a replacement value for insurance purposes. I believe it was Mica I spoke with. I read her the serial number and about a minute later she said Ohhh, you have that one!... I recall her saying her father had a hand in building it. When I got it, there was a sheet of paper that had all the specs and was personally signed by everyone that had a hand in making it. Being that it over 35 years old, I'd love to have the history and specs. I'd also love to get an idea of value.
