Actually, being titled Bike Week, I don't think this thread got hijacked nearly so badly as has been implied, especially given that Kevin (Rockbassist) hasn't complained as far as I can tell. Add the bonus that Kevin's issues/concerns have been discussed by the group as Kevin intended (by creating and posting to the Bike Week thread). Now we're pretty much having a good laugh (or six) while waiting to hear how things are going with Kevin and whether or not he's doing the gigs, some of the allure of which must surely be all the bikes...
As far as I'm concerned (and until Dave suggests to me otherwise), ALL discussions are exactly that. It's the difference between talking *with* someone and talking *at* someone, and ANY interesting discussion is going to take a turn or two down an unexpected path. If the initiator of a thread doesn't like the topic-drift, that's one thing, because it's still his or her thread (somewhat). If one of us who simply chimes-in doesn't like where it's going, then tough teabags! It's the Internets, people!
For myself, the perfect thread:
a) glorifies me and everything I do or say
b) mentions how awesome my Alembic is
c) has offers to buy me dark dark beer
d) notes the simplistic beauty of the KLR650
e) contains pictures I find appealing
f) glorifies me and everything I do or say
