DISTILLATE WIRING DIAGRAM
« on: March 02, 2026, 01:16:12 PM »
Hello! I own a distillate that hasn't been used in over 15 years. I have all the original components (except for one switch that broke, but I bought a replacement). I need the wiring diagram for the parts. I've already sent messages to the Facebook page with photos and haven't received a response. I'll post photos of what I have. Thank you!

Hey Billy
Welcome to the camp.   Pretty certain someone will help you out soon.
I tried posting pictures of my 84’s inside and it bounced to a New Post (Moderators have been working on some site issues).

Will try emailing them to you, not sure if having everything inside the cavity will work for you.

Good luck!

The blue switches are not original, and the functions of bass cut/flat/boost and treble cut/flat/boost use a different switch in each position, so I'm afraid you do not have the correct parts yet. It will not work with the parts you have.

Use the DPDT for the bass cut/flat/boost. For the treble cut/flat/boost, use an on/off/on SPDT (or half on the contacts on a DPDT). Schematic attached.

Hello everyone, thank you for the replies, Mica, do you have any photos of the switches with the components? I did a good part of the wiring by looking at photos here on the site, if you could send some it would be a great help.
Another question is whether the connection of the selector switch is correct, it came with the wires cut as in the photo, I just replaced them with longer wires, if you could send photos it would also help me a lot, thank you!

Pickup selector switch looks right from here.
This is how the Bass and Treble switch cluster usually looked.

Man, seeing those "BP" initials on the schemo was a big flashback for me. I played a bunch of gigs with Brad back then, I wonder where he is now.

Hi Mica, how are you? I made the switch connections as shown in the photos. What I need now is to get photos showing where the wires are connected to the board. I found some photos here on the forum, but it's not clear where to solder. The circuit works, but with distortion; sometimes it works, sometimes the sound disappears. I've already tested it with other ICs, but the same thing happens. This bass was completely disconnected, and I'm reconnecting it after it's been sitting unused for 23 years.

Hello everyone, does anyone have clear photos of the wiring on the board? I found some here on the forum but it's not clear enough to know exactly what's going on. I even connected it, and there's sound, but I noticed a few things: the filter works, but when I turn on the switch it makes a very loud beep; the trimpots in a certain position distort the sound. I've already replaced them with new ones and it's still the same. I made a new board to test with new components and it works the same way, so I think it must be the wiring on the board and the pickup switch.

PS: My bass is left-handed, so it's okay if the photos are of right-handed basses.

Resent an email via this site.

Please reply to it.   Then I can attach pictures from wiring installed in cavity.

Hi Billy - have you changed the treble switch to the correct on-off-on type? Looks like your pictures have the original trimpots, but you said you replaced them, what are the replacements? Were you able to connect the rotary switch by splicing to the original wires?

Please be aware that there are many different versions of the Distillate handwiring layout. You should confirm any wiring you see in a picture to the schematic to see if it makes sense.

Hi Mica! Thanks for contacting me, yes I exchanged the keys for the correct ones you told me about, the photo I sent is from before the exchange, I exchanged them for the same value 20k.
