Carvin 1U power amps
« on: May 20, 2023, 06:18:53 AM »
Looks like Carvin is back to making power amps. I just purchased an LT series 1U D-Class two channel amp.  Finally I can now have the power amp, SF-2, and either F-1X or F-2B in a 3-rack box! :)

I look forward to your review. I also look forward to needing a 3u rack-rig again.

I’ve been using a Carvin DCM200L 1U power amp paired with an F-2B for several years now.  LOVE it!   I see this new one is 340 watts/channel into 8 ohms.  That’s a LOT of power, especially for guitar.   I’ve also gone back and forth between a two space rack and a three space rack with an added SF-2.   I used a Mesa 50/50 power amp prior to the Carvin.   The Carvin is smaller, MUCH lighter and, in a band context, no one can really hear the difference.

Bill, tgo

Hey Bill,
I use the same DMC200L with an F-2B for my guitar.  So, I was happy to see the more powerful LT2000 that I will use with my bass…340w 8ohms, 580w 4ohms… need a few hundred watts to move enough air for the bass :)
