I first met Don in 1977. I was at my Girlfriends grandmother's kitchen and a Gold Record of Walk Don't Run was on the wall. My gf never mentioned his fame. Don would sometimes come over to my house (I bought his mothers last home) and we'd listen to music together. He would leave me tapes of projects in the works, etc. Many fun "road" stories. He was always pleasant and seemed down to earth to me. His mother was a Hoot yet a sound businesswoman....she managed the Ventures through their heyday. He is the last surviving "Venture."
