Bummer - Terrapin Crossroads Closed
« on: November 05, 2021, 04:56:47 PM »
Phil just put this out.   Bummer.

Bill, tgo

Dear Terrapin Nation,

After almost ten amazing years, we've decided that it's time to close the book on this chapter of Terrapin Crossroads. We're incredibly thankful for the staff, musicians, and community that made Terrapin special, and we hope that you'll remember the past decade the same way that we do; with love, joy, and a deep sense of pride at what we all built together. We explored all possible options in an attempt to keep Terrapin at its current location, but after carefully considering a number of various partnerships and collaborations, we decided that the best thing for us, and for Terrapin, was to bid farewell - for now. In that spirit, while Terrapin's time at its current location may be coming to a close, we know that Terrapin Crossroads was never a location - it was a community. We hope to see you all soon, in some form, somewhere down the road.

With Love and Gratitude,

Phil and Jill Lesh

It produced a lot of enjoyable music, and added a considerable amount to the lineage within which it was born.  And for that, I'm grateful.

It was a wonderful venue.   Live music for free in the restaurant/bar, live music outdoors, and live music in the Grate Room which held around 300 (though I wouldn’t be surprised if they packed in a few more).   Good fancy, but healthy, food.   Good bands, good times.    Completely spoiled me for Stadium shows.    Got to see brother Edwin play in the restaurant and brother StephenR play the Grate Room.   And, of course, seeing Phil & Friends in such a small venue was a real treat.  I will miss it.

Cool place, had lunch there once.  I have one of the signed posters from the fund raising prior to their opening.  Had one of the original “Buckle Up Kids” hats too, but wore it out…Further!  :)

Damn and I'm going to be in San Francisco this week.  Oh well, following the Pranksters rule that nothing lasts it seems!
The only thing that stays the same is change.
